Duomo Access Types: Discover the Right Experience for You
The Florence Cathedral complex offers three different types of paid admission.
Free entry is available, but only for the cathedral itself, and it usually involves very long lines.
With paid tickets, instead, it’s possible to skip the line.
GENERAL OVERVIEW
To visit all the other monuments of the complex (the Dome, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Museum, and Crypt), visitors must purchase one of the three official passes, all valid for three consecutive days.
1. Ghiberti Pass — Essential experience
Includes:
- Baptistery of St. John
- Opera del Duomo Museum
- Crypt of Santa Reparata
Does not include:
- Brunelleschi’s Dome
- Giotto’s Bell Tower
2. Giotto Pass — Intermediate experience
Includes:
- Giotto’s Bell Tower
- Baptistery
- Opera del Duomo Museum
- Santa Reparata
Does not include:
- Brunelleschi’s Dome
Highly appreciated by visitors who want to climb high (250 steps) without tackling the Dome.
3. Brunelleschi Pass — Complete experience
- Includes EVERYTHING:
- Brunelleschi’s Dome
- Giotto’s Bell Tower
- Baptistery
- Opera del Duomo Museum
- Santa Reparata
Brunelleschi’s Dome has 414 steps and is not recommended for visitors who suffer from claustrophobia, heart conditions, or for pregnant women.
Access to Brunelleschi’s Dome must be at a
fixed time, after which visitors have three days to visit the remaining monuments included in the pass.
